Ever get tired of going to
traditional malls just to buy an item you want? It is inevitable that we put
too much effort, time and money more than what is just necessary. So it is
really a good thing that online shopping is a rising trend in the Philippines.
These allow people to have more options when they want to buy something.
Shopping nowadays is easier since we can now do it traditionally offline or
thru online. It gives customers more in control of their time. They just have a
tough schedule and work lifestyle. These are the customers who don't have free
time in daytime and is at work at night. This doesn't allow them to have a
normal lifestyle like visiting the malls on a regular mall hours. Even if these
people want to visit traditional malls, they can't.
They can only visit these offline
malls during holidays or weekend. It's obvious with their time schedule that
they can't just gain access on malls at their will. It actually benefits them
now that online shopping is an available option. A lot of established offline
businesses are now shifting to online. What's amazing is that it only started
last year in the Philippines. Online malls started to show up everywhere when
they came in. Lazada is one of the online malls to offer huge selections
similar to an online mall. They can be availed also in other South East Asia
countries. Ecommerce reached popularity in the country when Lazada came in, as
compared to the previous years, which is prior to their arrival.
It's safe to say that they made a
huge impact on the local Ecommerce industry. Since the competition is really
low, it made sense to launch it in the country. However, the challenge lies on
how they will entire the local online users to try their website. Local online
users were hard to convert to online customers since online payment is no easy
task for them. It's just really hard to trust online since credit card details
might be compromised if used online. It is actually more difficult for them
since most of the online users don't have credit cards. It's because of this
limitation on why Ecommerce never took off in the country. Local online users
are not relatively unfamiliar with online payment.
A customer in general judges an
Ecommerce website right before it is given a chance to introduce themselves to
their market. Most of the time, we just ignore online malls probably because we
are new to it. Most of the time, we consider them as a scam the minute we see
them online. These two alone can cause bug problems for online investors in
Ecommerce in the country. But Lazada made a breakthrough to eliminate these two
problems in the country. Their C.O.D. or Cash on Delivery alternative payment
method as introduced to the local online users. Payment with them is not
required to be right away and customers can keep it up until they receive their
orders.
