Lazada: Picking online malls over traditional malls

Most of us still consider traditional malls when it comes to addressing our shopping needs. It is always a good thing if Filipinos have alternative on traditional shopping such as online shopping. No longer will it be frustrating for shoppers who have a busy schedule or have no free time during daytime. During at night, that's when they are only active and have little free time to do what they want. These are the consumers who are asleep at daytime or working during nighttime. They are usually not free when malls are open, which is a pain for their situation. They are unable to visit malls when they please unlike most people.

It's only during holidays or weekends when they can visit these traditional malls. Clearly, this makes them hard for them since they are not living on a normal time shift. It's a good thing for them that online shopping is getting popular now in the country. Most offline business is now launching it on the online platform as well. Actually, this only started last year in the Philippines. It happened when Lazada Online mall arrived in the country. It is one of the first online malls to be established in the Philippines. This is an online mall that is also available in other South East Asia countries.

The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall made a splash in the local Ecommerce market compared a couple of years ago where online shopping didn't exist at all Actually, their impact on Ecommerce can't be disregarded. Actually, the competition is very low in the country so it only made sense for them to launch it here. The real challenge for them is how they will convince the local online users to buy from their website. Most of the online users are not fan of online payment, which is why online users are hard to convert to customers. It is just difficult for online users since they are expose their credit card and personal information online. What makes it challenging is that majority of the population are not credit card owners.

Ecommerce in general really had hard time growing in the country because of these limitations. This doesn't mean that local online users are not familiar with online transactions. With online malls, we usually look to their risk rather than the reward that may come. Moreover, we just disregard online malls in general from first encounter. Online malls for us are all scams, which is sad. The issues are the reasons why Ecommerce is a challenging business in the Philippines. Good thing that the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall came up with a solution to solve both of these issues. They were able to come up with Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative payment method to their customers. This allows local online users to pay only after they receive their orders and not upfront, which is the usual setup with online malls.
