Lazada Philippines: The surprise rise of Ecommerce

Growing up and being able to live the era were online is just a rising entity and that we rely doing things more offline. It gives me great joy that I was able to live both the digital and non-digital era. It showed me how it transformed our lifestyle. I won’t lie that the arrival of online in our culture truly made everything easy for everyone. It is now all in the power of our fingertips, which is very convenient for anyone I’m pretty sure. Online shopping has begun to rise in the country just last year. Ever since Lazada came into the picture, other local online business was put to live as online shopping started to roll upwards.

As a matter of fact, Ecommerce was having a hard time in penetrating the local online market just a few years back. For short, not all local online users regarded online shopping as an option to their shopping needs. For second hand items, local online users visit online classified websites to buy to what they are looking for. When it comes to seeking brand new items, local consumers usually visit traditional offline malls. It's pretty normal to see since most of us grew up visiting traditional offline malls when we need something. Time, energy and money can be saved if local online consumers go with online shopping. So how online shopping can help consumers? Shopping online is way easier as you can do it from wherever you are. Customers will no longer need to visit location traditional malls saving them money on transport expense. It was an issue that was long endured by local customers that Lazada wanted to solve for them. It was difficult for online malls to tap the local online market of the country.

Most of the populations in the country are actually non-credit cardholders; therefore they are unable to pay online. There are still some questions on the reliability of online transactions. Online frauds and scams also happen globally, which we are all aware of. The local Ecommerce industry in the country is now expanding. Despite only having more than a year of operation under its belt, Lazada had already established its brand on the local online scene. For them to show their customers that they are real, they came out on TVC during primetime on top local channels.

How did the Ecommerce limitation was solved by them? What they did is they offered Cash on Delivery or simple called C.O.D. as an alternative payment method. This payment method is very unconventional to be offered in online. This is a risky payment method for any online business owners. With Cash on Delivery or C.O.D., customers don't need to pay right away unlike with other payment methods were it is required to pay right away. Their online customers can pay after they have received their orders in real time. This allows customers to hold their money until they received their actual orders in real time. The goal of the Philippines Online Shopping Mall is to make sure that their customers can trust them with this payment method.
