The longer duration for Internet usage and increase of Internet users in the Philippines is partly because of the smartphone success in the global market. It makes it easier for people to be online most of the time wherever and whenever they may be. Therefore, it is actually not surprising to see that online shopping is now drastically rising in the country. A couple of years ago, online shopping was just an idea that wasn't highly regarded by local online users. It's no secret that both online and offline frauds happen at high rate in the Philippines. Prices offered by them were at rock bottom that it is too hard to pass on. Lazada Philippines was launched a year ago in the country. They are an online shopping mall venture launched in South East Asia. It is under the German based company Rocket Internet, which is owned by the Samwer brothers. Lazada made an impact in the local Ecommerce industry through its payment methods.

With so many payment methods, each of their customers will find something that they will them best. Online malls usually only allow credit card or PayPal as the accepted form of payment in online. These conventional online payments restrict customers to avail what they want since most of us don't have our own credit card or PayPal account. They introduced to the local online users about their alternative payment method called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. The payment method allowed Lazada online store to tap the untapped market in the Philippines. As a matter of fact, it is the majority of the local market in the Philippines. Since the entire market is now open in Internet, it definitely helped Ecommerce thrive in the country.
