Lazada: Online shopping nearing traditional shopping

Lazada Online Mall was just launched in the country early last year. They are owned by the famous Samwer brothers and are operated under the Rocket Internet Umbrella Company. It is a venture that not only exists in the Philippines but also other South East Asia countries. Since our Ecommerce industry competition is low and have a high potential due to economy rise, it made them decide to launch their own venture in the region. They known for launching a lot of ventures to different regions and have successfully established their other ventures. Other countries have already incorporated online shopping to their lifestyle since they adapt to it a way earlier age.  Ecommerce was a stagnant industry before their arrival here in the Philippines. Conducting online payment in the country was tough since only a majority of them can avail it.

Most of us only have below average Internet connection. Majority of the population are not credit card owners. Credit card payments are the usual accepted online payment by online stores. For the first time Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. was introduced in online shopping and allowed pretty much everyone to try shopping online. For me, it changed how people perceive online shopping in the Philippines After they have arrived in the country; other offline businesses are not entering the online scene. Local businessmen now are seeing how online business can be a success in the country. A few years ago, Ecommerce was really struggling due to a lot of issues as compared to other countries. Even if we had some online users who are capable to deal with online, almost none of them like shopping online. For some of them who can pay online the conventional way, they were afraid of exposing the personal details online. It was actually hard for Ecommerce to grow along with its situation. Online classifieds were the usual websites that commanded its presence to local online users. The local online community really never paid attention to online malls prior to Lazada's arrival in the Philippines. At that time, local online malls were not common to see available in the local online community.

Since Ecommerce was really at an all time low when Lazada arrived, they diverted all of their efforts in full-scale online marketing. It's almost guaranteed that you will see at least one of their online ads at one point of your browsing online. It quickly helped their brand stick to the Filipinos. What made them above their competition is that their customers were served with the full online shopping service. Besides their Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. alternative payment method, they offer free delivery as well. This also comes with manufacturer's warranty similar to what traditional mall offers. The perks we get from traditional offline mall to online shopping are almost the same. This makes online shopping a bit of a better option since the it is way convenient than of the offline shopping that we got used to ever since growing up.
