Improved Ecommerce in the Philippines

Last year, Lazada Online Mall was launched in the Philippines. The famous Samwer brothers under their company Rocket Internet own it. They don't exist in the country only but also on other key countries in South East Asia. Since Ecommerce has a low competition and that we are on the phase of rising in economy. They already have a lot of successful ventures on the other regions wanted to replicate it here in South East Asia. Other countries are already accustomed to online shopping since they had it since the early days of online in their country. For the past couple of years, Ecommerce was still growing slowly in the country. Due to low number of online people who are able to pay online, made Ecommerce growth really hard. Some of us still have limited online speed. Not all of us possess their credit card.

Conventionally, online payments via credit cards are the most acceptable payment method. By allowing C.O.D. or Cash on Delivery as an alternative payment method online, any customer regardless if they have their own credit card or not can still avail online shopping. It actually changed the Ecommerce game in the country by allowing anyone to become customers. Established offline businesses are now entering the online space as well since they have arrived. Ever since they showed how online business could be successful in the country, local offline businessmen followed their success. Due to challenges before in Ecommerce, successfully penetrating the local market was almost impossible.  As for the people who have the privilege to conduct online shopping via conventional online payment method, they are afraid to expose their details online. Online shoppers who can pay via credit card don't prefer online payment.

These reasons failed Ecommerce to grow quickly than expected. In the country, classifieds online were one of the first to reach success online.  In the local online industry, online shopping malls really never took off prior to Lazada's arrival. Online malls really struggled in the local online community since there was no legit business that wants to enter the Ecommerce industry. In order to counter the Ecommerce drought, they launched full blown online marketing campaigns. It was overwhelming to see their online ads scattered everywhere. It made the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall brand prominent within just less than one years of their online marketing. Their overall online shopping package allowed them to have a step ahead against their competitors. On top of their Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method, they also offer free delivery to their customers. Any products or items bought at their online store come with manufacturer's warranty similar to what traditional malls offer to their customers. This is how they standout among its competitors. They make sure that their customers get covered and secured similar to if they bought on traditional offline malls. They are actually competing with our huge local traditional malls. They are showing us that you can do it instead at your home and you don’t have to worry since you’ll get the same service, warranties and other security coverage.
