Lazada Philippines: No more to traditional shopping

We used to visit traditional malls whenever we feel like buying something. It is considered part of our culture that we were raised to visit traditional malls since our parents usually brought us there when our family is shopping. However, most of us fail to realize that this is an activity that requires more energy, time and money when doing. It’s a good thing that now we can turn to online for addressing this needs.  On top of offline shopping, it's great that we have online shopping as an alternative. No longer will it be frustrating for shoppers who have a busy schedule or have no free time during daytime. They are just usually alive during night. Usually, these are the people who work on night shift. This kind of setup doesn't allow them to go to traditional mall during mall hours. It's really hard for them to visit traditional malls as they please. They can visit traditional malls during the day off at work.

Obviously, it's harder for them to shop compared to people who work on normal hours. It's a good thing for them that online shopping is getting popular now in the country. Online is now being migrated by offline businesses. This shopping craze only started last year in our country. It happened when Lazada Online mall arrived in the country. This makes them one of the first online malls to service the local online users. They are also available in other South East Asia countries. Ecommerce started to rise ever since they arrived in the country compared to the previous years. It's easy to say that they influenced the Ecommerce industry for its rapid growth. Actually, it's only logical to establish an online mall in the Philippines since there is not much of a competition. The real challenge for them is how they will tell people to shop on their website.

Most online users are not fan of online payment that's why online users are hard to convert to customers. Hackers may target us once we use our credit card for transactions. As a matter fact, only of few of the local online users have their own credit cards. Ecommerce in general really had hard time growing in the country because of these limitations. It doesn't mean that most local online users are not familiar with online payments. Since we initially see risk, we don't give online malls any benefit of the doubt. We just don't trust online stores in general the first time we see them. First thing that comes to our mind is that it is only a scam for us. These two alone are enough reasons to tell that Ecommerce is really challenging here. Lazada came up with a solution to eliminate these two huge issues in the local Ecommerce. They were able to come up with Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative payment method to their customers. It's actually not a requirement for them to pay Lazada right away as they are only required once their delivery arrives at their address.
