It’s
easier to go shopping when you can delay the payment process, the handing out
of cash at least. Ecommerce websites have emerged as the next most promising
profitmaking venture and because of so much growth, more people are trying it
out. To make way for every type of online shopper, online shopping websites go
as far partnering with different transacting companies. Lazada has very
flexible payment options including Cash on Delivery which it most known for.
Cash
on delivery (COD) is the only cash payment method that I personally approve of.
There are other methods that are cash-based like meet ups, bank deposits, etc.
But those can be very hard to keep track of as far as legitimacy. First of all,
paying ahead of time alone is already risky. But doing it with a complete
stranger multiplies the risk even more. COD assures product delivery before
demanding compensation. The customer will be handed his or her package first
before payment takes place. Since Lazada’s official shipping services are made
by LBC and 2GO, all transactions under COD are made with either of the two.
When
COD seems as impractical to use because of certain circumstances, that’s only
when I take into consideration paying with my credit card. Giving out
information as private and important as credit details raise a lot of red
flags. But since Lazada has been approved by the Payment
Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), I’m more
confident that my information are secure from any hacks. PCI DSS is very
meticulous when it comes to rating or testing a certain company. It makes sure
that the companies it tests have systems capable of protecting all credit card
transactions from leaking or being mismanaged. Lazada allows payments using any
Visa or Mastercard credit cards. It has one specific credit card company that
it allows for installment-based payments. Banco De Oro (BDO) gives customers a
chance to pay in a span distributed in months with no installment. The
installments can last up to two years depending on the preference of the customer.
If you avail of this method, you can choose among 3-month, 6-month,
12-month, 18-month, and 24-month payment installments options.
Online
shopping has many benefits but the payment process is one of the things I like
the most about it. There are other methods available on Lazada but the three
above are the only ones I’m familiar with. Before the aforementioned online
shopping site offered bank deposits, 7-11 over the counter transactions, etc.
But since its first year anniversary when it reformatted its available payment
options, it stuck with the most used options and added on two other methods,
Paypal and Megalink.
It’s
always a matter of finding a payment option that fits your preference. There’s
no better option in general. But that’s what’s so nice about shopping online.
You can adjust the system to you. Online shoppers are showered and spoiled with
so many good perks, discounts, promos that sometimes I can’t help but wonder
just how far it can go as to pleasing its customers.
